چکیده

We perform a detailed analysis on Affleck-Dine leptogenesis taking into account the thermal effects on the dynamics of the flat direction field φ. We find that an extremely small mass for the lightest neutrino ν1, mν1 ∼ 10−8 eV, is required to produce enough lepton-number asymmetry to explain the baryon asymmetry in the present universe. We impose here the reheating temperature after inflation TR to be TR ∼ 10 GeV to solve the cosmological gravitino problem. The required value of neutrino mass seems to be very unlikely the case since the recent Superkamiokande experiments suggest the masses of heavier two neutrinos ν2 and ν3 to be in a range of 10−1–10−3 eV. We also propose a model to avoid this difficulty based on the Peccei-Quinn symmetry, where the required neutrino mass can be as large as mν1 ≃ 10−4 eV.

Reheating-temperature independence of cosmological baryon asymmetry in Affleck-Dine leptogenesis

In this paper we point out that the cosmological baryon asymmetry in our universe is generated almost independently of the reheating temperature TR in Affleck-Dine leptogenesis and it is determined mainly by the mass of the lightest neutrino, mν1, in a wide range of the reheating temperature TR ≃ 105–1012 GeV. The present baryon asymmetry predicts the mν1 in a narrow region, mν1 ≃ (0.3– 1) × 10...

Naturally Large Cosmological Neutrino Asymmetries in the MSSM

A large neutrino asymmetry is an interesting possibility for cosmology, which can have significant observable consequences for nucleosynthesis and the cosmic microwave background. However, although it is a possibility, there is no obvious reason to expect the neutrino asymmetry to be observably large. Here we note that if the baryon asymmetry originates via the Affleck-Dine mechanism along a d=...

Affleck-Dine leptogenesis with triplet Higgs

We study an extension of the supersymmetric standard model introducing a pair of electroweak triplet Higgs fields ∆ and ∆̄. The neutrinos acquire Majorana masses mediated by the triplet Higgs fields rather than the heavy right-handed neutrinos. The successful leptogenesis for baryogenesis can be realized after inflation through the Affleck-Dine mechanism with a novel flat direction consisting of...

Affleck-dine Baryo/leptogenesis with a Gauged U (1) B−l

We briefly review the present status of Affleck-Dine baryo/leptogenesis scenarios in the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) in the context of the gravity-mediated SUSY breaking, and show that there is a serious cosmological problem in the Affleck-Dine mechanism. That is, the late decay of the associated large Q-balls leads to the over production of the lightest supersymmetric particle...

(Pseudo)-Dirac neutrinos and leptogenesis

We discuss how Dirac neutrinos can naturally be generated in supersymmetry and how they allow for an Affleck-Dine leptogenesis scenario, in which a leftright asymmetry is generated in the sneutrino sector, the left part of which is transferred to a baryon asymmetry via sphaleron transitions. No exotic fields need to be added to the MSSM other than the right-handed neutrino.
